It's show time!
Your faithful Car Tech crew just got back from the holidays and is ready to start off the new year with a bang. Next week we will be covering car technology at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show. Car gadgets have become such an important area that CES devotes an entire hall to it, and we will be conducting live demos at the show in our Car Tech Testing Lab of the latest car stereo head units. We will also get a demo of Ford's next generation navigation system, and we'll stop by Rick Wagoner's keynote address on Tuesday afternoon. But wait, there's more. The following week we will be covering the Detroit auto show. It is an impressive start to a new year of automotive technology. Read more

All-in-one GPS help
Posted by jraidrz150
I am looking for an in-dash GPS system with other options such as CD/MP3/iPod/USB connectivity. I was looking around online, first at the best, most expensive, and then at the cheapest I could find. Eventually I came across one for about $400 that seemed too good to be true. It is the VR3 VRVD640G In-Dash DVD Receiver w/ 4-inch LCD & GPS. I found it on only a couple of sites, one of which was Wal-Mart. Normally I wouldn't buy any electronics from Wal-Mart, but at this price... The problem is that I can't find any information about this product or VR3. Is it worth the risk to get this, or does anyone have any information about this product? I will also take any suggestions for alternatives. I will give up some quality for a cheaper price. Thanks in advance. Read more
