There are literally hundreds of ways to generate an income, and even build a complete business, on the Web. The model of your business is limited only by how creative you wish to be and how passionate you are about your chosen niche.
But there is one major factor that needs to be in place regardless of what business you are in. I’m dead serious when I say this:
Whether you are selling a business opportunity, discount cell phone plans, cowboy boots for people with six toes, software, custom pottery, or anything else on the World Wide Web there is one element that your business must have in order to live up to its full potential.
This one thing can improve the profits of any business.
And if you don’t have this one thing I promise from the bottom of my heart you are losing so much money…
What could this single most important element be?
Search engine placement?
Great sales copy?
Competitive pricing?
Joint venture partners?
Plenty of start-up cash?
It’s none of the above…
The single most important aspect of any business (whether online or brick and mortar!) is a list of living, breathing prospects who have expressed an interest in your product or service and who are willing to allow you to follow up with them on a regular basis!
If you are not willing to accept this then you are letting money go right out the window day after day.
My mailing list has carried me through some tough times when I wasn’t getting a lot of new business. And my list has put thousands (and thousands!) of dollars into my pocket which I simply would not have made otherwise.
If you don’t have a list, or if you are just sort of dabbling with list building and not treating it like the priority it truly should be in your business STOP right now...
You need to get a grip on this situation. If you really want success, I mean if you feel the desire to succeed in the marrow of your bones, then you owe it to yourself to make list building one of the most important parts of your business plan.
