Happy
Holidays!
I found the clip art to the
left and it scared the bejesus out of me -- it's like a whacked M&M
that's pulling its green brains out by its moronic "head-bow." And
worse, it's in love with you.
This is truly the stuff of
nightmares, but I do want you to have a great holiday, so please don't
worry about the insane M&M coming to get you the Night Before
Christmas.
Dear
Reader
From our house to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas, Bon Yule,
Happy Hanukkah, Wondrous Solstice, Fantastic Kwanzaa, and for those
who just enjoy a little holiday time with friends and family, well,
have a good one!
Coming
in 2008: More books, more stories, more book trailers, and
maybe something really special just for the subscribers to my
newsletter -- you've got to wait and see.
The
Members Only Area will be expanding and will include more
goodies and freebies, and I'll launch several weekly and monthly
contests beginning in January.
And if you are a
good boy or girl for Christmas, the crazy alien elf here might just grow a real body (and a nose, too!) so he doesn't have
to roll around on the floor in order to steal your Christmas
presents. |
Raul and I will be having a quiet day or two taking hikes through
the local woods (in the snow -- if it's still here by the 25th) and I
know I'll be doing a lot of Sudoku (if you don't know what this is and
you enjoy puzzles, go grab a good Sudoku book), drinking too much red
tea (since I gave up coffee), and writing, too. But we're going to
figure out something of the "Yuletide Spirit" to do on Christmas Eve
and Christmas Day. I'll let you know what it was after the holidays.
I've put some pictures from the past year or so of our pets below
-- or should I say "those who occupy our home and believe we're their
servants."
Since it's that time of year, and all of these pets are rescues I
want to suggest that if you're thinking of getting a pet for a
birthday or one of the holidays as a gift for your friend or family
member, please first go to your local animal shelter, city pound, or
rescue organization -- you'd be surprised what beautiful, healthy,
smart, friendly animals they have, very much in need of good homes.
One of the places to which we contribute every
year is the Humane Society, so
if you have a bit extra, think about sponsoring the pets in the
shelters with a small donation. Sometimes, our local pound just needs
blankets and dry food for the animals -- so check with your local
shelter to see what they might need. Thank you.
I want all of you to have a safe, happy holiday. No matter what
your troubles, leave them behind for a bit and just focus on a day or
two of joy and thankfulness for where life has brought you and those
you care for, and where you're going next -- and when possible, make
some kid's holiday brighter, and give --when possible-- to charities
you believe in supporting.
Best,

Douglas Clegg
