In a new initiative aimed at emerging markets, IBM will invest an extra $1.6 billion between now and 2010. This isn't about the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) though, where IBM revenues have grown at more than 20% per year over the past three years. Some of the money will go there, but most will go to more extreme emerging markets.
