Vince Dooley and Loran Smith hold the only Atlanta book signing for "University of Georgia Football Vault" at Tennille & Co's Buckhead store
November 15, 2007: For the second year in a row, Tennille & Co of Buckhead has held the sole book signing of "University of Georgia Football Vault" by author and Georgia Bulldog game announcer Loran Smith. The event was also attended by Loran's close friend and former coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, Vince Dooley, who is a true sports icon in the state of Georgia and with fans and alumni across the nation.
The evening "kicked off" with a long line of fans and a parking lot filled beyond capacity. "We knew we were in for a big turnout, the phones have been ringing off the hook and we are getting hundreds of emails from excited fans about this event!" said Cassandra Tennille, CEO of Tennille & Co. The atmosphere couldn't have been better, with a cold and windy fall day and the smell of hot dogs and onion rings filling the parking lot from the full service kitchen on wheels provided by Atlanta's famous sports eatery "The Varsity". Vince and Loran filled the shelves in the Tennille & Co storage room with personally autographed regulation collegiate footballs, and mini-footballs which were given out to thrilled sons who had come in tow with their fathers to the fun event. "The look on the boy's faces was absolutely priceless when we handed them the footballs, I couldn't ask for a greater pleasure than seeing those smiles!" said "Big Time Dawg Fan" Cassandra Tennille. In the few hours of the book signing, Tennille & Co reported over 300 copies of "University of Georgia Football Vault" were purchased and autographed. The evening was the scene of some great football stories and fellowship among avid Georgia Bulldog alumni and fans. Tennille & Co would like to mention and sincerely thank Don Hemrick for his generosity in arranging the evening and invitation of the very special guests.
