Editor's Corner: Give Yourself a Gift
If you celebrate Christmas, you're probably feeling some "not enough time!" anxiety right about now. There are still cards to send, gifts to buy or make,
parties to plan or attend, family to appease...
This weekend, I put all that on hold for an impromptu photo shoot at a deserted amusement park. During warmer months, the Santa Cruz Boardwalk is so full
of people that it's hard to walk from point A to B. The old wooden roller coaster goes clackity-clackity, the newer rides whistle and clang, and the sound
of the crowd is even louder. But on this winter afternoon, the only noise came from frustrated seagulls looking for scraps, and from the click of my shutter.
While I didn't get any great shots, I was able to relax and stretch some creative muscles. As you make your way through the next few weeks, don't forget to
take an hour or two for yourself.
