Workshop for Publishing Poets   Clara Silverstein
Join Clara Silverstein and the Workshop of Publishing Poets for "Eat Your Words: An Evening of Essays and Poems about Food." Clara Silverstein is the author of two cookbooks, The Boston Chef's Table and The New England Soup Factory Cookbook with chef Marjorie Druker, and the memoir White Girl: A Story of School Desegregation. A former food writer at the Boston Herald, she has also been a contributor to Health magazine, Runner's World, the Boston Globe, and The Oxford Encyclopedia of Food and Drink in America. Her poems and essays have been published in literary magazines including Blackbird, The Paterson Literary Review, and The Runner's High anthology. She is Program Director of the summer Writers' Center at Chautauqua in western New York.

Robert Kuttner is a founder and coeditor of The American Prospect magazine, and a radio and TV commentator. He wrote a column for Business Week for twenty years, and he has a weekly column in The Boston Globe and many other papers. His most recent books are Everything for Sale and The End of Laissez-Faire.

Susan Pollack at the Hotel Marlowe   Gloucester Fishermen's Wives Cookbook: Stories and Recipes
Susan Pollack is an award-winning journalist and the author of the recent Gloucester Fishermen's Wives Cookbook: Stories and Recipes. She is now working on a memoir about her years reporting on life at sea and in fishing communities, including Gloucester, where she and her husband, a poet and boat builder, have made their home in a 1735 fisherman's cottage.

Brian Kellow   Ethel Merman: A Life
Kellow's book, which includes recollections from more than 120 of Merman's friends, colleagues, and family members, stands as the definitive biography and an affectionate portrait of an unforgettable star. Fans of Broadway history and of the great Ethel Merman will find Kellow's biography an irresistible read.

Kellow is the author of two previous books; The Bennetts: An Acting Family and Can't Help Singing: The Life of Eileen Farrell. He is the feature's editor for Opera News and writes a monthly column, "On the Beat." Brian has also contributed articles to numerous other publications including Opera, BBC Music Magazine, Playbill, Newsday, and Stereophile.
