In-car HD Radio takes off
We've been hearing for ages about how HD Radio was the next big thing in automotive entertainment, but, aside from BMW's affection for the technology, there was little in the way of HD Radio options either from the factory or in the aftermarket. Well, that's all beginning to change. This week, Volvo became the latest automaker to announce HD Radio as standard and optional equipment on its next generation of cars. The announcement follows similar news from Ford and Hyundai that they are incorporating the technology into many 2008 models. In the aftermarket, we have reviewed a crop of new HD radio receivers in the past few weeks, including Sony's CDX-GT520, Alpine's CDA-9885, and JVC's KT-HDP1. Check out our news and reviews in the links below. JVC KT-HD1 review This week's five hottest products

Help with GPS decision
Posted by atsirk80 I'm searching for a GPS (as a gift for my Dad). He wants one that is portable & versatile...e.g, it can be used (1) in the car, (2) on a motorcycle and (3) hiking. The more I research, the more confused I get. It seems the "personal" GPS are meant only for tracking hiking paths, for example. What specifics should I be looking for in order to find one that is small & portable, yet also comprehensive for driving directions? Read more Editors' top techie cars
