A Christmas Carol: Not-so-Tiny Tim's Great Big Musical!
Vox Nova
at 6th @ PENN Theatre (Hillcrest)
Ruff Yeager has re-imagined the classic Dickens tale from the point of view of the story's most sympathetic character--Tiny Tim. In this treatment, however, our little hero is all grown up and, after a series of hilariously harrowing life experiences; his path parallels that of his old family friend--Mr. Scrooge. Our Tiny Tim, too, must be visited by the three Spirits of Christmas and learn the hard lessons of forgiveness, generosity, and good will. A colorful cast of characters includes Mrs. Castillo (Tim's secretary), an energetic Girl Scout as the Ghost of Christmas Past, a Bob-Barkeresque Ghost of Christmas Present, and many other favorites taken from the original source. The show features 14 new songs with titles like "The Script's Gonna Hit the Fan," "Odd Man Out," "La Fiesta de la Buena Noche," and "Lousy So-and-So."
