Lynn Mueller, which was reprinted from the NGA's
Pathfinder.
"I see two factors that contribute to the
problem [of the NGA serving users outside the federal community]: 1)
DOD is weighted to RemoteView, which reads NITF much better than
GeoTIFF, and 2) software manufacturers either offer less than stellar
NITF support (ESRI) or charge extra for it (ERDAS)."
