Custom maps, often mashups are now a regular part of news reporting. The recent California fires prompted the creation of a number of such maps by media outlets. This past week's oil spill in San Francisco was no different. Search Engine Land's Danny Sullivan highlights some search related challenges he found in working with these maps (see image at left[Source: KCBS News Desk]; click for larger image).
Wondering what the "Current Top 10 Artists" are in Morocco, or anywhere else in the world? (In Morocco, there are only three I've heard of: Celine Dion, Metallica and the Gypsy Kings.) According to Gracenote's Veronica Skelton, "Gracenote Music Maps allows you to browse the globe by state, country or continent and view weekly popularity charts of artists and albums from Austria to Venezuela, including local artists in their native languages."
