Highlights of the LA Auto Show
This year's LA Auto Show saw no fewer than 14 world debuts. Stars of the show included Honda's FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel-cell production car, a sweet looking concept coupe from Hyundai, and a redesigned Nissan Murano. Both the Jaguar XF and the Nissan GT-R made their first appearances in North America, while Audi unveiled its vision of a coupe/SUV hybrid. Hybrids of the more conventional kind were also in abundance as GM and Chrysler showed off their two-mode trucks, one of which won the Green Car of the Year award. The 2008 Mercedes-Benz C300 covers cabin tech basics and drivability very well without going over the top. Its imperturbable handling is good but doesn't generate much excitement, while its cabin tech gets the job done without many frills. Read more
