Firing Line |
| |
Every day, the world's 24-hour news channels carry pictures from areas of conflict and disaster zones. Many of these images are recorded by freelance cameramen and women whose courage and initiative often get taken for granted, but on whom we all rely when we watch the news. Their contribution to global broadcasting is honoured at the Rory Peck Awards. The Firing Line pays tribute to the skill and determination of freelancers like Rory Peck (pictured), the courageous cameraman killed in Moscow during the abortive coup in 1993.
