For all bar one of the last five years, I've commentated on BBC ONE's live game in the first round of the FA Cup.

This year it will be Torquay against Yeovil, a West Country affair and a clash between one side who are second in the Conference and the other going steady in League One.

As part of my preparation for the game I was in the stands at Plainmoor to watch Torquay play Cambridge on Saturday, and on Tuesday I pitched up at Cheltenham for Yeovil's most recent fixture.

Despite Torquay losing 2-1 to Cambridge, there was a great atmosphere and long queues of people buying tickets for the Cup tie, which bodes well for a good crowd on Sunday.

Yeovil didn't do too well either, drawing 1-1 at Cheltenham who are bottom of League One. Perhaps they were saving themselves for the Match of the Day cameras!

Both clubs have got good young managers who will be keen to showcase their talents on Sunday.

Yeovil boss Russell Slade knows a thing or two about Cup runs after leading Scarborough to round four in 2004 before an unlucky defeat to Chelsea.

And Paul Buckle has made a great start at Torquay, picking up the pieces at a club who began the summer with just four players on their books following last season's relegation from the Football League.

An interesting sub-plot is whether Ishmael Welsh will play for Torquay. He's on loan from Yeovil and is eligible to play, but the Glovers have said they will recall the player in January if he features against them.
