Dear Friend of FARM,

Since 1999, we have been awarding small grants to grassroots groups promoting a plant-based diet and respect for animals in the US and 30 other countries. No other organization funds these projects, so our $500-1,000 grants have produced amazing efforts by creative, dedicated folks who donate their time, talent, and tenacity and require only minimal seed money to get started.

The Fund honors the memory of FARM President Alex Hershaft's mother Sabina, who passed away in 1996.

This Fall, we received a record 125 proposals from groups in the U.S., Nicaragua, Venezuela, Poland, the Ukraine, Croatia, Malta, Israel, Thailand, India, Kenya, and Uganda.

We’d love to help all these groups turn their dreams into reality, but we cannot do it without your help!

For a donation of $500 - $1,000, you may become a direct benefactor of a project. At your option, this may include selecting your favorite project, staying in touch with the project director, and eventually, receiving a report with photos.

Your smaller contribution will be pooled with others to fund other worthy projects.

Here are just a few selected projects:

  * Distributing a manual to help parents introduce vegan school lunch options
  * Supporting a vegan training regimen for competitive U.S. athletes  
  * Supporting a speaking tour to motivate college animal rights activists in the U.S.  
  * Conducting vegan "feed-ins" and listing veg-friendly restaurants in the Boston area
  * Training Venezuelan villagers to produce soy milk and soy sausages
  * Translating, printing, and distributing a Vegetarian Guide in Poland
  * Promoting availability of vegan foods in Croatian restaurants, schools, and hospitals
  * Training Israeli animal rights leaders
  * Supporting a Tel-Aviv animal rights storefront
  * Arranging a massive march and street theater opposing meat consumption in Tel-Aviv
  * Arranging Meatout and WFAD events in India
  * Arranging a West African Vegetarian Congress
  * Feeding of vegan meals to the homeless in Nigeria
  * Training Ugandan youths in growing vegetables and preparing vegetarian meals
  * Training Ugandan students in animal rights issues
