BBC World's award-winning weekly travel programme fast:track re-launches with a new look, title graphics and presenters on 14 January. Fronting the programme will be BBC presenters Thalia Pellegrini and Rajan Datar. The new fast:track format will appeal to viewers who travel frequently for both business and leisure. The programme will feature reports from leading industry experts and a variety of new travel segments including what to do with '24 hrs' in a city and 'Flying Facts' explaining everyday inflight announcements. The spotlight remains on Australia during January, with the year's first global blue-chip event; the Australian Open Tennis Championships - the first of the four 'slams' - in Melbourne from 15 to 28 January. The ones to watch will be either Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal to win the men's title. At this stage, it's difficult to see who's going to emerge from the pack to challenge their dominance.

This week, Nurses on the Frontline is in Mozambique following nurse Silva Chironda. In a country with few doctors, Silva by necessity is a 'surgeon nurse,' better known in Mozambique as a 'tecnico'. Week in week out Silva carries out more surgery than the busiest consultant in the Western world. For many Mozambiquans, 'tecnicos' like Silva are their only hope.
