Tokyo auto show roundup
Each time the Tokyo auto show rolls around, we know we're in for a week of crazy concepts, souped-up sports cars, and glorious gadgetry. And this year's show didn't disappoint. Lexus, Nissan, and Suzuki made use of their home turf to show off some of their ideas for new models, while Nissan and Mitsubishi went for the shock factor with a couple of eclectic, electric concepts. Toyota gave us a glimpse of what the new Prius might look like, and the Nissan GT-R made its much-anticipated debut. Toyota 1/X hints at a new PriusWayne Cunningham Toyota's 1/X concept, shown at the 2007 Tokyo auto show, uses a body design that closely resembles that of the current Prius. But the 1/X has a lot of tricks up its sleeve that could give it double the already frugal Prius' mileage. First off, the 1/X's body is made of the same carbon fiber materials Toyota developed for its racing cars. This type of body makes the 1/X a third lighter than the Prius. Read more
