NEW dcshoes.com EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH KALIS
Kalis kicks it at one of his houses, this one in Chicago.
This week Josh Kalis was in Southern California; so we caught up with him for a new interview, now live at dcshoes.com. In the online-exclusive chat, Josh talks about his favorite guys to travel with, the car he’s customizing for Dyrdek, and what he sees in the near future for skateboarding. Follow this link to read it.

And if you haven’t checked out the Josh Kalis-focused minisite at dcshoes.com that covers his new signature model (the JK7) and all the goals with it, follow this link.
INVITE ONLY PREMIERE FOR MTN.LAB 1.5 GOES OFF IN ENCINITAS
The sign out front wasn't 100% on point, but DC friends and family packed into La Paloma.
On Tuesday we hosted a small, invite only premiere of MTN.LAB 1.5, the new snowboarding video from DC. It went down at La Paloma Theater in Encinitas, Calif… some 200 DC employees (plus their family and friends) joined members of the media to pack in for a rough-cut look at the video that was filmed not only at DC’s MTN.LAB in Utah but also at shred-worthy spots worldwide.

Unless you're lucky enough catch one of the other exclusive pre-showings of the video that we're hosting around the country, you’ll have to wait for MTN.LAB 1.5 to hit shelves in early November to find out what kind of shenanigans, footy, and overall high-flying RPMs we packed into our second snowboard movie. But judging by the hoots, hollers, and laughs during the show, Director Pierre Wikberg and the DC team have stepped it up once again.

A surprise to everyone in attendance was the ending, which we kept under very tight wraps until Tuesday night's showing. The "ender-ender" brings together Ken's rally car and the DC team at Snow Park in New Zealand for what's got to be the must-watch part of the season! So much went down that you're going to have to grab a copy and see it all for yourself. Look for more info on the surprise ending in the coming weeks.

For now, here’s what some industry folks had to say about their first watch of MTN.LAB 1.5:

“Snowboarding is fun, and it all comes through in this entertaining-as-hell movie. The entertainment factor doesn’t overshadow the gnarliness of a 120-foot 1080, Ken’s rally car moves, or Devun Walsh on his home turf—this movie sends it!”
- Annie Fast, Senior Editor, TransWorld SNOWboarding
Director Pierre and Aaron Biittner with some deserved chill time.

"Happily entertained! The finish was worth it right there. I’m putting it on my buy list.”
- Rob Campbell, Publisher, TW Business

“I liked the intro—3, 2, 1, Go! The production, the footage, the music—turn it up!”
- Chris Engelsman, Associate Publisher, SNOWBOARDER Magazine

Check out next Friday’s DC Newsclip for even more information on MTN.LAB 1.5! And, check out dcshoes.com/snow for a few teaser clips from the video before it drops on November 5.
SPOTTED PIG MINISITE IS LIVE AT dcshoes.com
NYC Country Bistro and DC Join for a Double Label™ Project
Little English country pub in vibe. World-class culinary influencer in reputation. Foodies consider The Spotted Pig the place to go when in New York. Check out the new minisite at dcshoes.com to see our new Double Label™ project with the restaurant, including an interview with the owner and a podcast video.
A gastro collaboration between chef April Bloomfield, Ken Friedman, Jay-Z, and the very orange Mario Batali, The Spotted Pig has grown quickly to become a casual but not to be missed bistro. The idea to do a project with The Spotted Pig came about naturally: Spotted Pig co-owner, Ken, has a brother named Ron who works for DC. DC originally made a shoe exclusively for the restaurant’s staff, meaning you had to steal them off a waiter’s feet if you wanted a pair. Staff members were being offered $100’s of dollars for their work sneakers, leaving some waiters walking home barefoot with fat pockets! For Fall 2007, we’ve made more of them available--this time in limited numbers to sneaker lovers--at boutiques worldwide.

BJORN LEINES INTERVIEW IN THE SNOWBOARD MAG

In this month’s Snowboard Mag is their new “Lost Art” feature, this one centered around DC’s own Bjorn Leines. BJ is the type of rider that is super versatile, and the article gets into that versatility as they showcase a variety of photos, from really big backcountry to parks and pipe.

For each one of the photos in the feature, BJ breaks down the image via extended captions… if the passion that he conveys through his words don’t get you psyched to go shred, nothing will. Seriously.

The November 2007 issue of The Snowboard Mag is in shops now.
