...but seriously if you think grendel's mom was a villainess with which to contend, you've obviously never met grendel's second wife. according to most scholars of the nowell codex, grendel's second wife, sheilla, was on some sort of shopping trip in brussels (winter clog trunk shows) when this whole beowulf business went down. a footnote in the codex indicates that she seemed to find grendel's headless condition and her step-mother's deceased state to be "somewhat of an improvement both in ambiance and scent".


to step forward into modern times, Glade has pledged to make available new household plug-ins in grendel and grendel's mom scents for the holiday. for the more budget minded, there's just the plain carrion scent as well. we therefore deem october 19th as "thank a sheilla in your life" day.
