BBC RADIO 5LIVE'S MARK POUGATCH
It's been a vintage autumn for sport and if last Saturday was exciting in the most unexpected manner then who knows what might happen this weekend!

To be in Marseille for England's ferociously determined win over an Australian side short on self-belief was to witness the world champions alive again for really the first time in four years.

Sometimes when you're working at an event, you can be seduced into thinking that it's the biggest show in town only to find when you get home that people are only interested in the X-Factor or Wayne Rooney's metatarsal.

Not this time - on Saturday night my phone purred with texts from friends who'd been utterly captivated by the game in the Stade Velodrome.

So this Saturday on 5live, we have a double header to savour.

England's footballers have had their own rebirth of late as well and their confidence and new found rhythm should take them comfortably past Estonia (also live on BBC ONE from 1430 BST).

Paul Robinson seems to be the Andy Farrell of the football XI, the lightning conductor for what has gone wrong in the past, but the keeper shouldn't be unduly troubled until he gets to the plastic-pelleted pitch in Moscow when England face Russia on Wednesday.

We'll also have updates from all the other Euro 2008 qualifiers, including the latest instalment in Scotland's stunning campaign (highlights of that game will be on BBC ONE Scotland).

Then before we travel to the Stade De France we've coverage of the Super League Grand Final between Leeds and St Helens.

And then it's to the Rugby World Cup semi-final, a repeat of 2003.

An Australian fan, sitting next to me last Saturday night in a bar watching the All Blacks choking, said to me: "Why are all you Poms cheering for the French? You hate them."

"Simple," I said. "Because we know we can beat them."

What a weekend; bring it on.

Mark Pougatch will be presenting Saturday's 5live Sport from 1200 BST.
