Cerwin Vega CVHD 5.1 Channel Speaker System - Review

Top Picks - 32 and 37-Inch LCD Televisions  from your Home Theater Guide
Flat panel televisions are quickly becoming quite commonplace on store shelves and in consumers' homes. Although Plasma TVs seem to be be getting a lot of attention in this area, the LCD television is actually making a bigger impact with consumers. For a list of some of my LCD television favorites in the 32 and 37-inch screen sizes, check out the following selections.

1) Syntax Olevia 537H 37-Inch LCD Television
For less than $1,500, this set sports a 37-inch 16x9 screen, as well as HD-compatible progressive scan and HDMI input, and 1366x768 native pixel resolution; perfect for watching DVD and HD material. ATSC, NTSC, and Digital Cable (non-premium channels) tuners are included. The 537H also has extensive picture adjustment controls, a very wide viewing angle, advanced video processing, and 8ms response time, which minimizes motion lag on poor source material. This set offers a great picture for the price.

2) Toshiba 37HL67 REGZA 37-Inch LCD TV
The Toshiba 37HL67 is a great LCD television to consider for your home theater system. With a native pixel resolution of 1366x768 (suitable for HDTV), and an 8ms response time, and very wide viewing angle, this set provides a good, viewable image. In addition, its 3 HDMI inputs, 2 HD-compatible Component video inputs, PC VGA input, and ATSC (HDTV) tuner allow access to high definition signals from a variety of sources, including 1080p sources, such as Blu-ray or HD-DVD (Note: 1920x1080 (1080p) input signals are scaled down to 1366x768 for screen display). For audio, this set includes a "soundstrip" thin profile speaker system and SRS WOW audio processing which brings out the high and low frequencies normally buried in small speaker systems.

3) Samsung LN-T3242H 32-Inch LCD Television
The Samsung LN-T3242H is a 32-inch 16x9 LCD television with a native pixel resolution of 1366x768 (suitable for HDTV), enhanced contrast ratio processing (7,000:1), 3 HDMI inputs, 2 HD-compatible Component video inputs, a PC VGA input, stereo headphone jack, and both NTSC and ATSC (HDTV) tuners. Also, if you don't have a home theater audio system, this set includes SRS Tru-surround XT which provides a basic surround sound environment from the on-board stereo amplifier and two side mounted speakers. The image quality, in terms of color consistency and contrast, on this LCD television is great. If you are shopping for a flat panel television, definitely take the time to check this one out: Note the convenient built-in swivel stand.
