FOUR-PEAT! BOHAN WINS THE NORA CUP AGAIN
When Corey Bohan won his first NORA Cup, it was an honor. When he won his second, it was a pretty big deal. When he won his third, it was unprecedented. Last weekend Corey did the unthinkable by taking his fourth-straight NORA Cup in the Dirt category!
Four straight years as the number one Dirt rider out there! Photo by Fat.
The NORA Cup (Number One Rider Awards), now in its 11th year, celebrates the best of the best in BMX. Riders from every riding disciplinedirt, street, ramp, race, flatland, and streetare honored in an event hosted by TransWorld Ride BMX. The awards ceremony coincides with the annual Interbike convention in Las Vegas, and once again the NORA Cup Awards were held at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
What makes earning a NORA Cup extra special is the fact that the winners are chosen by the pros themselves. Corey is a favorite among his fellow riders, and his big amplitude and ability to throw tricks that no one else can do is what earned Corey the Cup.
From all at DC, congratulations Corey! To see a video of the opening montage from Coreys NORA Cup presentation, follow this link.

PASTRANA JUMPS OUT OF P*** WITHOUT PARACHUTE.
DOESNT DIE.
Look ma, no 'chute!
Last week Travis Pastrana blew our minds once again (hes awful good at that) by jumping out of an airp***
with no parachute! Could this be the craziest thing Pastrana has EVER done?
Details are still sketchy and youll have to wait for the next Nitro Circus movie (dubbed Thrillbillies) to see the footage, but we do know that Travis was 15,000 feet in the air and only wearing DC boardshorts and socks when he jumped out. He then somehow managed to be caught midair by a few of his fellow jumpers. (Think: Point Break, but no Patrick Swayze. And real). Imagine the consequences of missing his fellow jumpers!
As noted, the complete footage and story behind the jump will be featured in the new Nitro Circus movie. Stay tuned!

BLOCK TAKES 3RD IN NEW ZEALAND
Last weekend Ken Block was battling it out in his Group N Subaru at the Nelson Rally 2007, part of the New Zealand Rally Championship. Ken improved on a string of unlucky finishes all year in New Zealand by finally taking a podium spot: 3rd place.
Ken was down in New Zealand to gain even more experience in rally racing
even though hes full time on the Rally America National Championship (currently tied for 2nd), its good to race different rallys across the world to keep the learning process rolling. Basically, new courses plus new strong competition plus time behind the wheel equals faster stage times and hopefully more wins at home on the Rally America National Championship.
Ken has raced four rallys in New Zealand this year. After crashing out of the first three, he was certainly pushing for a strong finish at Nelson. Making things difficult for Ken were some wet, rainy conditions and a return to his Group N car after driving a more powerful open class rally car for the last couple of years. He said, Its a totally different type of driving and car setup and its been very difficult adjusting to it at every race with only small shakedown stages.
Ken drove consistently throughout the events nine stages, which weave through the forest on loose gravel logging roads. The strong driving translated into Ken's first NZ podium finish. Kens New Zealand teammate Sam Murray finished 6th, thus secured the 2007 championship.
Kens next rally will be the Rally America season-ending LSPR in a few weeks
he will race against Travis Pastrana, Andrew Pinker, and the rest of the field to finally determine the 2007 Rally America Champ. For photos from Kens most recent rally in NZ, check out Lars Ganges' photos from the event here.
