Jazzercise Helps Kentucky Harvest
Jazzercise CEO Judi Sheppard Missett was recently in Louisville, Kentucky to join in the 25th Anniversary celebrations of Kentucky Harvest, an organization that gathers food for the needy. As part of the celebration, Judi taught a Jazzercise class where Kentucky Harvest collected 10,000 cans of food. She also had the opportunity to meet singer/celeb Hillary Duff later that day. Hillary works with the Harvest organization by designating all concerts as food collection sites.

Technique Tips
Lunges with Clasped Hands Overhead and Leaning Torso
This movement is executed by lunging slightly to the right with the torso leaning in the same direction. As you lean with your clasped hands overhead, the abdominals and core muscles must contract to support your body. The further you lean, the harder your abdominals will have to work. To shift to the other side, push off the lunging leg and pull with the abdominals in to transfer the weight to the other side.
Seated on the Ball, Adductor Squeezes (Inside Thighs)
First, make sure you are seated on the ball in the following position; straddle the ball with knees pointing down and toes tucked under. You should be in a straight line from your shoulder, hips and knees. The torso should sit directly over the pelvis and not be leaning forward or backward. Squeeze the ball with your inside thighs and then gently release. It is important to maintain a degree of contraction throughout this exercise.

"Dance"...and More Tips to Keep Your Immune System Healthy
Source: aol.com
According to Mark Liponis, M.D., having a healthy immune system is the best way to live a long and healthy life. In his book Ultralongevity, he offers these tips to keep your immune system at bay: 1) dance - the latest research shows those who exercise the most rhythmically have the lowest immune system activity, 2) avoid frequent use of antibiotics - they prematurely age the immune system, 3) floss - reduce plaque and nasty bacteria, linked to an overactive immune system and a doubled risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke, 4) play with a pet - animals help support the immune system by exposing it to the right, harmelss germs, and 5) calm down - yelling is a sing of hostility that tells your immune system you're ready to fight and puts it into an overactive mode.
