A Note from Linda:
Hi Criss,
Isn't it nice to see a friend you haven't seen in a long time?
I'm having a great time with my friend and personal assistant, Jan Walker, whom many of you have met via email or on the Forum.
Jan flew from Florida to Oregon for a week of meetings and fun with the rest of the Scrapper's Guide team!
Adobe Webinar
I'll be teaching another webinar for Adobe on November 13, where I'll demonstrate what you can do for scrapbooking with Adobe Photoshop that you can't do in Photoshop Elements. Whether or not you own Adobe Photoshop, I think you'll find it interesting.
Here's where you can register.
Love and scrapbooking success,

Linda Sattgast

Brushes Back Issue Now Available
As part of our September Premier Birthday Celebrations, we're offering special incentives to sign up for Premier.
This week we've added the September 2005 Brush Factory issue to the Premier member's site. This was our very first Premier issue that we've rescued from the Scrapper's Guide archives.
I watched the videos and must say that it's still just as current and good as it was two years ago! You'll learn how to create your own brushes, including grunge brushes, and you'll get over 50 brushes as well.
This issue will be available FRE'E for Premier members through the end of September. After that it will take its place in the back issues section of our store.
Find out how you can become a Premier member.
September Premier Lesson #3:
Filter Grunge Embellishment
Don't settle for sterile looking digital embellishments! You'll be amazed when you see what this unlikely filter can do to add realism to a digital plaque. Follow along as I show you how to make the plaque from start to finish, and then watch as I demonstrate how to add a touch of grunge for realism.
You can see the page this plaque is on in the gallery.
This month's exclusive designer kit for Premier members is called Fancy Free by Jenny Binder. This fabulous kit includes over 100 doodle brushes!

Designer's Favorite Page
Last week's template was designed by Creative Team Member Nancy Marti. She chose Grandma's Hugs by tskb as her favorite layout design. Here's what Nancy had to say:
There were some really wonderful layouts this week and a lot of twists to the template that I didn't even envision as I created it. I really enjoyed Penny's, Connie's and Esther's layouts but this week I was especially drawn to this one, which is very close to my heart.
This is such a beautiful layout with all the embellishments positioned just perfectly. They complemented the layout and the photos very nicely. Since I am only 7 weeks away from being a first time grandmother, I can appreciate the joy on the faces in the photos. This one just makes me smile when I look at it!

This week's template by Creative Team Member Sharon Maughan
I LOVE white space. In my opinion, there is nothing that can make your photos stand out as much as some white (or negative) space on your layout.
This week, I've decided to scrap photos of my daughter using some beautiful papers and stitching from the Tropic Blues kit on Michelle Shefveland's Simply Moments Mega CD. Even with these cute papers and accents on my layout, I have still left plenty of white space to accent the photos.
Notice that this template gives you lots of room to use any fun elements, brushes or stitching on your layout. And although I chose to fill the spaces with two photos and a journaling box, you can scrap three photos with this template or one photo and two journaling boxes, etc.
If you choose to 'paste into' on this template, you will also find that it rounds the corners of your paper or photo. I always enjoyed using the corner rounder when I paper scrapped, and I like the look in digital too.

Back again by popular demand, Jenny Binder is our Tip of the Week guest instructor for a fun technique called:
Doodle Coloring Lesson
Wouldn't the world be a boring place without color? Color not only adds interest to your creations, but also helps establish the "feel" or the mood. This week, let's take a look at one way you can add color to a doodle.
Read Jenny's tip
As our featured Premier designer this month, Jenny certainly is an expert, but did you know that Jenny started out just like many of you? She wanted to learn digital scrapbooking, so she ordered my original DVD, The Scrapper's Guide to Adobe Photoshop Elements for Elements 2. (Does that give you hope?!)
