To call it a "showdown" seems a bit melodramatic. Yes, the arrival of new releases by two of the biggest names in hip-hop -- Kanye West and 50 Cent -- on the same day is newsworthy. But it's not like streets will flow with children's tears if one act outsells the other. (Besides, wouldn't the victor feel bad, making all those little kids weep?) Considering that the two men shared the stage at the VMAs, how heated could any alleged rivalry truly be?
