FRESH & FRUITY NO FUSS COBBLER

Making dessert can be stressful. We all have had that horrible
feeling of trying to transfer a rolled out pie pastry from counter to
pie plate only to watch it crack and fall apart, missing your dish
completely. Or maybe it was a tart crust that was too dry, crumbly,
or wasn't enough to fill the whole bottom of your fluted pan? And
don't even get us started on all those lumpy, bumpy birthday cakes
that fell hard, lost all their volume, and were horribly lopsided.
Your stress-free answer to all these dessert disasters? An easy,
bubbly, moist and fail-proof cobbler, of course! With effortless and
tasty cobbler, you get all the juicy deliciousness of a classic fruit
pie, but none of the work!

JEWISH HIGH HOLIDAYS; L'SHANA TOVAH!

The Jewish Holiday of Rosh Hashanah starts Wednesday evening,
September 12th and will be celebrated worldwide. The ten days
starting with Rosh Hashanah and ending with Yom Kippur are commonly
known as the Days of Awe (Yamim Noraim) or the Days of Repentance.
This is a time for serious introspection, a time to consider the sins
of the previous year and repent before Yom Kippur, a solemn day of
fasting, contemplation, and prayer. The fast is then broken with a
menu of dairy-rich breakfast foods which is gratefully enjoyed by
all. Ready to celebrate? Don't let your bubbe do all the work! We
have a myriad of sweet and savory Rosh Hashana Recipes for you to
peruse. Take ten days or just a few moments, if you aren't Jewish,
and appreciate the High Holy Days' traditions and wonderful recipes
that are passed down to each new generation. L'shana Tovah, or Happy
New Year everyone!

CRAZY FOR COCONUT

Summer is over and while fall may bring a refreshing change in the
weather, it also brings a return to a more structured schedule, which
can be a bit jarring to the system. No more lazy sunny vacations or
long days at the beach. Hang onto that serene and slow-paced
lifestyle a little longer by adding some nutritious and versatile
coconut to your next dish! Coconut is the perfect choice if you are
feeling a bit busy and crazed by the hustle and bustle of work,
school, and activities because it is a natural stress buster, calms a
cranky tummy, detoxifies the body of impurities, and even speeds up
your metabolism! Fresh, dried, shredded or flaked; coconut will
certainly sweeten up your outlook!
