Country Mice
By Laurie Furnell
Well, it is time to go back to school. This means, more time for Mom!! YAY! This is a great time of year. Kids are starting back to school and we can start back in on our crafting! This is especially a great time to scrap all of those summer pictures you took or to get a head start on your Christmas crafting.

Whatever it is that you do once your little ones go back to school, enjoy the time while it lasts…because before you know it will be summer again!

Top Tip:
add dimension to your cards! Print two identical images, make one into a regular flat card, then cut out part of the image and stick it over the corresponding part on the flat card, with a "pop dot", or bit of double-sided foam tape, for a raised effect. Voila! Looks especially good with flowers, heads, or any feature that deserves special attention. Another great trick it to add details or go over outlines on a regular image, with three-dimensional or fabric paint. Try glitter-enhanced or pearly colors for even more pizzazz.

What I Have Learned:
I have learned that you can make nice embellishments from sheets of craft foam. It comes in all colors and can be purchased at reasonable prices with or without adhesive backing. You can cut shapes freehand, with die-cut machines or even buy the foam in precut shapes. What I thought was interesting and made the possibilities endless was the fact that if you heat the foam with an embossing tool it is soft enough to accept an impression. I use texture plates and rubber stamps to add texture to hearts, faces to flowers etc.

About:
I have been a member since August 2002. I am a 60 year old grandmother, raising a teenager again. I can hardly wait each month to download the new items. They are so much fun. I have used them in my church callings, making gifts and to make cards and scrapbook pages. I have made coloring books for my grandkids. I especially love the hugbars. I am always using them to take a small token to a friend or neighbor. You can make them bigger and put them on a liter of pop or anything else for that matter. I did enough cards using the clip art to take to every sister in our church for their birthday. We have also used the clip art to make a pattern to embroidery on pictures or pillows. I absolutely love PC Crafter. I have bought many extra sets as well.
