Australian Convict Records

Over the course of several days in January, 1788, 11 ships from the British First Fleet delivered their cargo of 732 British, North American, West Indian and African convicts to Sydney Cove. Over the next 80 years, 165,000 convicts were transported the 15,000 mile journey from England. Does your family have Australian convict roots? Family and Local Histories:

Family histories are a fantastic collection of names, events and historical commentary on a particular family group. If you are lucky enough to find a family history your line ties into, you’ll get an insightful look into the lives and events of your forbearers. We consistently add family histories to our collections in hopes of providing you with the rare experience of opening one of these priceless treasures.

We also regularly add valuable local histories to the site. Packed with useful information, they can give context and meaning to the genealogical lines flowing through these areas. With geological, biographical, religious and governmental information, one can get a good idea of the environment as well as geo-political factors that shaped the lives of ancestors.
