AR2007 Conference Sets New Records
A record 100+ speakers from 70 groups presented in 120 sessions. Nearly 90 organizations exhibited their literature, food and merchandise. AR2007 Presents Hall of Fame & Activist Awards
James and Jenny met Eddie Lama at the Animal Rights 1997 Conference. The resulting award-winning documentary
"The Witness" Kevin founded and led SHAC USA, devoted to exposing and stopping animal cruelty at New Jersey's Huntington Life Sciences Laboratory. He is currently serving a six-year sentence, under the Animal Enterprise Protection Act, along with five colleagues, for posting anti-HLS information on their website. The sentence is under appeal.
Saurabh was celebrated for his transformation of a local vegetarian group into one of the world's largest and most active vegetarian societies and for his volunteer consulting for several national animal rights organizations, including FARM. Musicians Tom Scholz and John Feldmann received the Celebrity Animal Advocates Awards (see side panel). Find out more about the Animal Rights Hall of Fame.

August 1, 2007 Celebrity Advocates This space features key supporters of FARM and the animal rights movement.
Tom Scholz founded the famed rock band BOSTON in 1976, after a recording he cut in his basement studio
became the highest selling debut album ever. In 1986, he urged his fans to support FARM and formed a charitable foundation that raised
millions for animal rights, children, homeless shelters, and food banks. Tom received the Celebrity Animal Advocate
Award at AR2007.
John Feldmann, lead singer & guitarist of Goldfinger, is a vegan animal rights activist. He promotes the vegan message through his music. A strong supporter of SHAC, he performs at benefit concerts on be-half of Kevin Kjonaas. John received the Celebrity Animal Advo-cate Award at AR2007.
