Friends,

O'Reilly NewsletterSo much for a summer break. We're as busy as ever here at O'Reilly launching lots of new books and conferences, some of which I've highlighted in this newsletter. Last week's release of David Pogue's iPhone: The Missing Manual, which we published first in PDF format, caused such an overwhelming demand that our download servers were brought to their knees, three times. Our sincerest apologies to any of you who experienced a delay in getting a book. A new server was spec'd and ordered, one that will handle the increasing load of digital content we're serving.

For those of you who missed it, OSCON, the O'Reilly Open Source Conference, is underway in Portland, Oregon. Some amazing keynotes, sessions, and tutorials, too many to list here. What's at the top of my list? James Larsson's Pimp My Garbage and Nat Torkington's Open Source Therapy.

See you there? —Allen Noren
