What's in a name?
When I first started my practice more than a decade ago, I was a channel. I brought through guidance from a spirit entity to help people on their journeys. I was guided to the name "Flowing Spirit" which captured the fact that being in spiritual truth, being in life in a healthy way, is about going with the flow. If there is an area in your life that is static, you are not in the flow in that area and life will be more difficult. And the "Guidance" part captured what I did. But since that time I have become a Pathwork Helper and teacher and a spiritual healer and teacher. The goal of these practices as well as of the channeling, is the same--help people on their journey to God, to their innermost being. But "guidance" is no longer the sole focus, at least not in the way that the term connotes. So the new name is Flowing Spirit Healing. Healing more accurately describes what happens for you, the client regardless of what modality we use. Whether you are having a Pathwork session, a channeling session or a healing session, the work is about healing those parts of you that are turned away from God, where, as the Pathwork Guide would say, you are following your "little will" rather than your "inner will." Open House to celebrate our new offices--Come meet us, take free classes & receive a free healing certificate
At the end of April, Flowing Spirit Healing and the Woodstock Sufi Center opened offices in the heart of Woodstock. There were a number of reasons for the move out of our previous offices in our home, not the least of which is greater access for our clients. No more negotiating our curvy, hilly, dark driveway in the snowy and icy winter!
The offices are very convenient--we're right in the heart of Woodstock. People who live at a distance can come for a session or workshop and enjoy shopping and dining in town or sitting by the stream a short walk from the center or enjoying many of the other attractions in the area while they're here.
Laila and I each have an office and we have a spacious waiting room where people are welcome to sit and relax and read. We also have a full kitchen for preparing meals for workshops or warming up items for pot luck events. And of course, a bathroom for excess coffee or tea!
To launch, so to speak, our new offices, we're having an Open House on June 23rd from 4-7. We'll have free healing classes and we'll be giving certificates for a free healing to anyone who attends! We hope to see you! Here's a flyer with more info.
We're at 33 Mill Hill Rd, Woodstock, NY 12498. Mill Hill Rd. is also State Rte 212. If you're driving, you are welcome to park behind the office. And if you take the bus from NYC, you can get off about 100 yards from the office!

Humor Corner Personally, I like to laugh. And there's medical evidence to show that it's even better for you than chocolate! So i plan to make this a regular feature. Jokes that are at someone's expense (like dumb blond or Polish jokes, or even jokes about Bush) give me a yucky (that's a technical term) feeling in my stomach even if they do make me laugh, so you won't see any of that here. Let me know if you like this column & by all means, please send me some stuff to publish. I got a good chuckle out of this one titled: Haircut For Meetings. (Thanks, Ron for sending me this a while back.)

And this movie/ad is hilarious:

Self-healing tip
This column will focus on techniques/practices that you can use in your life now to connect more deeply with your inner knowing and heal.
Finding what prevents you from fulfilling your innermost longingThe Pathwork Guide says that we are entitled to fulfill our deepest
longing, so if we long for something and we don't have it, we need to
look for a hidden part of ourselves that is obstructing it! If you are new to this work (and even if you're not), it can be disconcerting to think that we are obstructing what we want most. And yet it's true. It is easy to go to a place of self-blame, feeling bad, etc. But a shift in perception is in order: You are powerful. You are creating, manifesting. Once you harness this unconscious creating by making it conscious, imagine what a force for change and healing you will be. Here is one way to explore the obstruction.
