an Kenny Galleries is a family owned and run business operating from High Street outlets in Lanarkshire, Scotland.
The first retail outlet was opened in Larkhall in 1989, although Ian had been framing pictures since the summer of 1976. He quickly established a reputation for quality work, and went on to open the Gallery in Hamilton in 1992.
Building up a reputation for being a quality framer and art retailer was the main objective of the business for the next few years, and in June 1998, this increased reputation and demand for his work led him to open a third outlet in the market town of Strathaven.
Reorganisation of the business means that the Larkhall branch is now a fully dedicated framing workshop where the public are welcome to speak to the framer who will be doing their work. The Gallery in Hamilton is the main centre for anyone seeking artwork not normally seen in 'run-of-the-mill' Galleries.
Ian has always been at the forefront of the framing trade - he was the first bespoke framer in Scotland to take on the Design Lines mount decoration system - allowing him to offer quality mount decoration at a reasonable price.

The increasing use of conservation materials has not passed Ian's notice, and he became one of the first in the area to actively promote quality conservation materials for use in framing.
With the use of these materials in mind, Ian took the Fine Art Trade Guild "Commended Framer" exam in 1997, and passed with flying colours - making him one of the first qualified framers in Scotland.
The Commended Framer scheme is the UK's only recognised framing qualification. Ian has fully supported the scheme, and was appointed the Guild Tester for Scotland in 2001.
He has, since 2002, also been the local area Director of the Fine Art Trade Guild.
In recent years the Galleries have built up a reputation for selling only the very best in artwork - becoming the Main dealer in the area for work by George Ioannou, Gillian McDonald and many other well respected artists, as well as building up a portfolio of work from local Scottish artists, including Scott Naismith and Ian Leonard.

ABOUT BOOKKEEPER POSITION
