Smartphones for Globetrotters
If you're traveling overseas, you could opt for a temporary local GSM card, but then you'd lose the added luxury of carrying your contacts, schedule, and other personal info with you. Those who want spend a bunch of time abroad would do well to consider one of these seven smartphones, all of which pack the latest and greatest features in a handset that can keep up with your jet-setting ways.

Work-Hardy Laptops
Sure, the majority of us still work in your standard-issue office environment. But with the advent of remote access and portable technology, more and more people are finding themselves working from all sorts of places--airp***s, kitchen tables, and everywhere in between. Thankfully, the variety of portable PCs is just as broad as the jobs people have. No matter where your business takes you, one of these four laptops can keep up.

A Powerful New Mogul
The next, and possibly most impressive, in Sprint's line of smartphones, is the new HTC Mogul. On the whole, it's slimmer and neater, and it updates its older cousin's Windows Mobile software, which are all welcome changes. Still, though, the PC Mag cell-phone analyst says it could have done with a tad more oomph. Check out his full review on PCMag.com.

A Newly Graceful ThinkPad
In the past, those who couldn't spring for a T-series ThinkPad would no doubt grumble at the thought of buying the ugly duckling of the line, the R-series. The new ThinkPad R61 is more media-friendly than its predecessors. It has a widescreen now and assimilates the elegance of the Lenovo ThinkPad T61 Widescreen (our Editors' Choice) with performance upgrades aplenty. Read the full review to see what new features this notebook is packing.

A Stylish, Power-Saving Bluetooth Headset
The Motorola Slider Bluetooth Headset H800 is comfortable enough to remain perched on your ear all day, and offers an intriguing power-saving feature. Although it could use better noise-blocking techniques, it's still a great buy. Visit PCMag.com for our hands-on review.

Security Suite Smackdown, Part III
The big-name security suites won't be releaseed until the back-to-school/winter holiday shopping season, but plenty of other suites ship year round. Going with a lesser-known name can save you money, but are these second-tier suites good enough? Here are five low-cost security suites you should consider in part three of our Security Suite Smackdown.

Security Watch: Beware Phony Chase Charges
This week in phishing: A clever e-mail scheme targeted at Chase credit account holders has cropped up in many inboxes. Superficially, the message is pretty good looking. Head over to Security Watch and find out.
