Environmental Defense: Finding the Ways that Work2-for-1 Match Campaign

Dear Friend,

Deadline Extended! You have until July 14th to triple the value of your donation through our 2-for-1 online match campaign.

Donate now.

We've received a number of emails from online supporters worried that they missed the deadline for our 2-for-1 match campaign because of last week's holiday.

So, we're extending the deadline by one week. You now have until midnight Saturday, July 14th, to help us reach our $1,000,000 goal to meet our ambitious agenda to fight global warming.

Donate now to triple the value of your gift.

Longtime friend and trustee Robert W. Wilson has generously offered to match online donations $2 for $1. That means every $1 you give will translate into $3 for our campaign against global warming.

This exciting 2-for-1 Matching Fund could not have come at a better time.

Congress has not yet taken meaningful action to fight global warming. But, there are growing signs of progress, and we need to take advantage.

Senators Joe Lieberman (D-CT) and John Warner (R-VA), the Chairman and Ranking Member of a key environmental Senate subcommittee, recently announced that they have begun drafting a "comprehensive bill to address global climate change."

And, on the other side of Capitol Hill, Rep. John Dingell, Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, recently declared that his panel would attempt to write a global warming bill this year that would cut global warming pollution by "between 60, and perhaps as much as 80, percent by 2050."

Progress continues on the state level as well. Last week, Hawaii and New Jersey became the second and third states, after California last year, to pass statewide caps on global warming pollution.

This momentum couldn't have come at a better time, but we need to keep the pressure on until we see real action. Nothing short of overwhelming public pressure can turn the tide, and we are so grateful for your help in keeping the heat on Capitol Hill.

Donate now to triple the value of your gift.

Thank you for your support and dedication to this critical issue.

Sincerely,

Fred Krupp, President
