Thank you to the many customers and partners who installed and tested the Windows Logo Kit (WLK) preview versions, we are pleased to announce
Windows Logo Kit version 1.0.c. This kit was developed in response to customer feedback and includes Microsoft's test automation infrastructure for device testing, the Driver Test Manager (DTM), and all of the tests required by the Windows logo program.
Windows Logo Kit 1.0.c is a fully supported release. This release is for use to obtain Windows Logo Program Certification.
This release contains logo tests to support the 2007 Windows Logo Program. In addition it contains many enhancements improving the stability and reliability of the Driver Test Manager and Logo tests. Preview tests for the 2007 Logo program that had been previously released with the March 2007 Windows Logo Kit 1.0.a, are now required for Logo with 1.0.c.
Preview tests for the Server 2008 Logo program, previously released with the April 2007 Windows Logo Kit 1.0.b, are also included in this release but remain in Preview status and cannot be used to obtain Server 2008 Logo. Previous Windows Logo Kits, including 1.0 and 1.0.a may be used to obtain logo for 60 days following this release then Logo submissions using 1.0.c become required.
Some of the changes for this release include:
. A more robust Setup - the team has fixed multiple issues known to cause setup failures.
. A more stable and reliable Studio - the team has fixed multiple issues known to cause Studio to crash or cause failed submissions.
. A more stable Client - there are several fixes included to resolve multiple memory leak and overrun issues.
Important Support Information
Please note, within the Windows Logo Kit, client tests included in this release are final and supported through standard
Microsoft Product Support channels.
Server tests offered through this kit are considered beta and support for these tests remains available via the
Microsoft Connect website.
