United Airlines To Open Third Air Route To HCM City United
Airlines of the US on April 5 said it will open another air route from Los
Angeles to Ho Chi Minh City via Hong Kong, China, by late
October.

Many Airlines Increase Flights To Vietnam Japan Airlines has said it will increase flights to Vietnam as of June 2007 to meet the increasing demand for travelling by businessmen and tourists. According to the firm’s announcement, as of June 2, it will offer a Tokyo-HCM City flight on Saturdays. At present, Japan Airlines has five flights per week on this route: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. AirAsia, a low-cost carrier, is urgently preparing to open a HCM City-Kuala Lumpur route to serve Vietnamese travelers. Vice Chairman of AirAsia, Lim Siang Chai, said that the airline currently offered seven flights on this route. Meanwhile, UNI Air of Taiwan has announced it will open a direct flight from Gaosyong to HCM City each day, as of May 2007. This airway currently offers three Gaosyong-Hanoi flights. UNI Air is a branch of EVA Airways, the leading airline of Taiwan. | |||

1.46 Million Foreign Tourists To Vietnam About 1.462 million foreign tourists have visited Vietnam since early this year, 12.5% higher than the previous year. According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Korean tourists accounted for the highest number with 187,531 visitors. Additionally, Vietnam received 178,097 Chinese, 155,592 American and 149,150 Japanese tourists. Of 1.46 million foreign travellers, 900,000 visited Vietnam for tourist, a 17.5 % increase over the previous year, while the remainder came to Vietnam for business cum tourist purposes. * The VNAT also announced that around 20,000 foreign travellers visited Vietnam by sea, 140% higher than the previous month, accounting for nearly 50% of the total foreign visitors to Vietnam. | |||
