As
the world wakes up to the perils of climate change
and dependence on fossil fuels, alternative energy
sources are gradually becoming both more demanded
and supplied. In today's news
section, a pair of top research institutes are
reporting that technologies and global circumstances
have now brought solar energy to the brink of
the mainstream. Plus, today's top feature
highlights ten pioneers in the field of renewable
energy -- from Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Also in the news, however, is a disturbing report
that, despite the recognized perils of climate
change, CO2 emissions have not decreased in
either developed or developing countries. And
in the analysis section,
a British free speech advocate calls for his country
to legislate as much.
