JAPANESE WATERS WARMING FASTER THAN WORLD AVERAGE

(21 may 2007) Seawater temperatures around Japan have risen at a much
faster rate than the rest of the world's oceans in the past century,
partly because of global warming, according to an official report.

PAUL WOLFOWITZ’S FALL FROM GRACE IS NOW OFFICIAL

(21 may 2007) World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz will resign on June
30. Critics see his removal as a reluctant damage control exercise by
the bank. Wolfowitz’s recent drive toward good governance has been
panned as a PR scheme to restore credibility after years of support
to corrupt regimes and unsuccessful neo-liberal policies.

HIMAL MAGAZINE CENSORED IN BANGLADESH

for its critical analyses and opinion on South Asia. Its latest issue
was allowed to be distributed only after the removal of articles that
dealt with the future of democracy in Bangladesh and growing
militaritisation.

ZAGREB MARKS INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST HOMOPHOBIA

Against Homophobia (IDAHO), the Legal Team of Iskorak and Kontra, and
the Croatian Women Network organized a distribution of “We are not
homophobic, however...” leaflets, as well as leaflets warning of the
increased homophobia spread by the Catholic Church.

SERBIA FINALLY TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR ITS YOUTH
