Tayllor...

Once your site is up and running and you’ve got some great content
combined with Google Adsense code, you’ll want to start optimizing your
Adsense ads for the most clicks.

I’ve written a quick guide here that you can follow:
http://www.interspire.com/content/articles/54/1/Optimizing-Your-Google-AdSense-Pages

In a nutshell:

Make your ads look like the rest of your website content. People don't
like clicking on ads, so don't make them stick out with obtrusive
colors

Use Text ads and avoid banner ads or image ads. Text ads look cleaner,
can fit your overall design scheme better and people are naturally more
receptive to text than banner ads.

According to various experiments I’ve personally done and those I've
read about, the best performing ad sizes are:

Large Rectangle (336 x 280):

Leaderboard (728 x 90):

and Medium Rectangle (300 x 250):

468x60 Ad blocks look too much like the annoying, commonly ignored
banner ad of the past, and so should be avoided as most users tend to
associate this size with typical ads.

Try using Ads without borders. Once again, this makes your ads seem more
seamless and look a lot less like ads.

If you experiment with the 2 different types of ads, those with borders
and those without, you should find that the ones without borders will
work a lot better over the long term.

To create an Adsense ad without a border, simple match the border color
of your ad with the background color of your web page.

ArticleLive has built in integrated Google Adsense support, so once
you’ve signed up to Google Adsense:

https://www.google.com/adsense/g-app-single-1

All you need to do is then place your Adsense ID into the Adsense
section of ArticleLive and ArticleLive will automatically place the ads
for you in the relevant sections.

The ad placement has already been optimized as per the rules above and
you can select which ads you want to show and on which section of the
site.

More soon.
