Earth Pilgrim
Welcome to "Earth Pilgrim", the online home of inspired photographer Sacha
Dean Biyan. Mr. Biyan formerly paid his bills working as an aeronautical
engineer, but gave up his career to pursue his passion of photography
full-time.
Browsing through the Earth Pilgrim website is a beautiful experience, a
tour of the photographer's profoundly elegant work accompanied by spiritual
prose and calming music. Biyan's main subjects are Indigenous Peoples, and
so he has traveled to the Amazon, The Arctic, Papua New Guinea, and other
remote parts of the world to capture these images. While this "Earth
Pilgrim's" main focus is on native tribes, what makes his photography
special is how it illuminates the deep sense of humanity that connects all
of us, something that can be easily forgotten amidst the rapid pace of
modern society.

The Birth of TV
Whether you love it or hate it, there is little argument that the invention
of the TV has had a significant impact on our culture. Take a break from
watching the "boob tube" and learn about its colorful history at The Birth
Television Archive (BTA) website.
The BTA traces the origin and evolution of the television with the help of
its extensive archive, originally compiled from the footage of five
separate European archives including Great Britain's BBC and Radio
Télévision Belgique Française (RTBF). This cool site has over 600 original
video clips and programs, almost 400 images, and more than hundred vintage
television guides guaranteed to keep visitors up to their eyeballs watching
the "birth" of television.

Guide to Eating Well
Depending on what we eat, food can either be a powerful medicine or a
dangerous poison. You don't need a Nutritionist to tell you that Apples
are much healthier than Twinkies, but those who aim to maintain a
"healthy", environmentally friendly diet can surely definitely benefit from
a little expert advice.
The Eat Well Guide is a comprehensive resource Americans and Canadians can
use to find fresh, sustainable food, farms, stores and restaurants in their
area. In addition to the great online directory of over 9,000 listings,
the site also has tasty recipes, an educational tool called "Sustainable
Table", and a link to an unforgettable animated film called "The Meatrix".

Gulf Arabic
Although the current political and military climate of the Middle East
dominates the news, there is much more to the culture and history of the
region than violence. This cool site is a study guide to learning basic
Gulf Arabic, the dialect of the Arabic language that is native to Gulf
countries such as Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. Tips
include help with pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar, as well as simple
travel phrases.

Webby's Version 11.0
While they may lack the glamour, pomp and circumstance of The Oscars, The
Webby's are still the premiere international award ceremony for the
Internet. Check out the official website of the 11th annual Webby Awards,
presented by the impressively staffed International Academy of Digital Arts
and Sciences.
Browse through this year's list of Winners and Nominees, which are divided
into 70 diverse categories including "Activism", "Blogs", "Charity",
"Education", "Health", "Net Art", "Student", "Travel" and many more. Each
category has two winners, the recipient of the Webby Award that was
selected by the official panel of judges, and the "People's Voice Winner"
voted to glory by the Internet-savvy public. The site also has an archive
of the past ten Webby's, information on the 2007 Awards Event which will be
hosted by musical legend David Bowie, and instructions on how to enter next
year's competition.

Henry Abbott.

If for nothing else, you can always count on the Internet to provide an
abundance of entertaining yet useless information. For those who don't
already have it bookmarked, Neatorama.Com is a wonderfully original blog
that satisfies its loyal readers with news from pop culture, as well as all
things odd, curious, bizarre, weird, freaky, and eccentric one can find on
the Net.
The site's most infamous section is entitled "Neatorama Only", a sort of
"Guinness Book of Oddities" that delivers a concentrated dose of the best
and quirkiest that the Web has to offer. Current highlights include "10
Strange Facts about Einstein", the "30 Strangest Deaths in History", and
"10 Scientific Frauds that Rocked the World".

World-O-Meter
Statistics about population growth, the environment, and other large-scale
topics can, because of their sheer breadth, seem abstract and even
unfathomable. This powerful website displays a variety of World Statistics
in real-time, helping people to bridge the gap between abstract global
concepts and important, objective data.
The Worldometers site let's you watch the world turn with your very own
eyes, with immediate stats relating to crucial issues such as "The
Environment", "Food", "Health", "Water", and "Energy". Visitors will watch
in awe as the Worldometer tracks a list of statistics, some frightening and
some amusing, such as the current Earth population, the rate of forest
loss, the number of bicycles produced annually, the amount of money
Americans spend on perfume, and many other mind-blowing figures.
