A Note From John
|
|
Well hello all-- Yes, that is me, John, and my daughter on a recent trip to the Caribbean. So, now you can put a face to the name!
First off, I want to thank all of you for your support of Single Parent Tours and Single Parent Travel in general. I am so thankful to be working with Brenda as we push this to the next level.
We want to know what you want to see, because this business and site really are nothing without you--our shareholders if you will. So, please give me any suggestions, tips, comments, or ideas. My direct email is john@singleparenttravel.net.
The transition had a few bumps but we are over them now I hope. The biggest one was that we lost our old phone number. The new toll free number to call us is 888-2-SPT-KIDS (or for those, like me that are challenged with the letters!
...888-
277-8543).
The other change is the switch to an HTML style newsletter. Hopefully this will be entertaining and easy to read. Again, I am open for suggestions!
I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and hopefully meeting you on some of the fantastic trips we have scheduled.
Till then, my emailbox and my phone is open for you! Please do not be a stranger!
Be sure to scroll down and read the update from Brenda on her trip to Denver and also take a look at Austin-Lehman Adventures!
All the best- John Frenaye CSD (Chief Single Dad)

We have special rates for our SPT family and have some pretty fabulous SPT events planned at each resort. Remeber they are August 18 to 25 at the Beaches Resorts in Boscobel Jamaica and at Turks and Caicos!

Tips & Links

This is our section for tips and links. Always some useful information to be had for sure.
One of our other companies is indeed a travel agency. They not only are able to handle the Single Parent trips, but if you are interested in a trip on your own, give us a call or check out our site. Travels With Fred.
I know that you always see that "singles" site to the right when you log onto our website. On a personal note, if you are single and looking for a friend, significant other, or the next love of your life. Give it a look. Not saying that it is the end all or be all of online dating sites, but I did meet my girlfriend (hey, if anyone has a more "mature" term than that, please email me) there and we have been very happy together for the past!

Our Community

This section would normally be reserved for some feedback from our members or some postings for our forums. But for my first shot at this newsletter, I wanted to share a letter I got from Brenda who asked me to let you all know about her trip out west.
Moving across country has been an incredible experience, but not one I would want to repeat. My son flew in from Denver for a few days to help us load up the moving van. He gathered up his strong armed buddies from his UPS days. The van was loaded with literally one inch to spare. Peter drove the 22 foot van while I followed in our car. Staying right behind the van while we negotiated construction through Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Kansas City was a major challenge. Everyone said we would be bored driving through Kansas, but we loved it! It was a pleasant respite and we were entertained by a big sky with lots of wannabe tornados, getting in practice for the summmer season. The drive certainly made us appreciate the vastness of America and the fact that we are often the breadbasket of the world.
We arrived safely in Denver, with not one dish broken. My daughter chaufferred me to Home Depot and Target 3 times in 24 hours and then we unpacked and painted and cleaned for 2 days and barely made a dent. I started back to work on Monday in my new home office and have already received gifts of food and wine from our neighbors.
We now live in the Highland area of Denver, an eclectic gentrifying residential neighborhood which is a 20 minute walk from downtown and 5 blocks from my kids. Once I get to know the city you are all welcome to use me as a reference for family vacations.
