Smoking, Yes or No?
Are you sick of breathing in other people's smoke? Do you arrive home after a drink at the bar after work and smell your clothes, annoyed that you now have to dry clean your suit.. again! Perhaps you are worried about the health effects of breathing in someone else's smoke? Or maybe you are a smoker, furious that you will soon, no longer be able to complete your ritual of a drink and cigarette at your local bar with friends to unwind after a long day? Perhaps you feel that a drink must go together with a cigarette and how dare someone tell you what you can and can't do?
Low Carb, Good or Bad?
McDonalds is doing salads. How often do we see 99% fat free? How packed was your gym the last time you were there and could you find a spare locker? The Biggest Loser is on TV. Have you or do you know of someone who has completed a fun run recently? Are you on a diet or watch what you eat?
* So is low carb beer and wine a good or bad invention?
* Does it taste the same?
* Do you feel less of a man ordering a low carb beer at the pub?
* Are you girls now relieved to have a 'healthy' choice of beverage at bars which won't extend your hours on the treadmill the next day?
* Is this just an extension of ordering diet coke in your mixed spirit drinks?
I am eager to know what Australia thinks...
How Cheap is Cheap?
* Being quick to buy a round of drinks at the RSL during happy hour, because you know the next round will be your mate's turn at the posh bar in the city.
* Accepting a round of drinks from a friend of a friend and then saying goodnight.
* Turning up to your mate's BYO BBQ with nothing and taking someone else's Crown Lager from the fridge.
* Turning up to a dinner party with a bottle of unchilled white wine no one has ever heard of, from some country no one knows, knowing that they won't open it and letting you drink their good wine.
* Hosting a BBQ at your home and inviting friends around while telling them to BYO alcohol and meat.
* How you will feel the next morning after a big night when you realise that he/she is not the supermodel you thought they were.
* Pretending to be nice to the ugly guy/girl in an attempt to hit on the attractive friend.
* Briefly meeting someo
ne in a hostel bar in Sydney and then arriving at their door in Barcelona to stay for 3 weeks.
* Filling the Johnnie Walker Gold bottle with bottom shelf scotch.
* Decanting a clean skin red wine and passing it off as a 95 Grange.
What is your definition of cheap?? We want to know!!
The High Cost of Beer Tax
The Federal Government has a policy of increasing the tax by CPI twice a year, yet claims this is an adjustment and therefore not an increase. This is a tax that nets the Federal Government billions of dollars a year while Canberra posts record surpluses. The cost of a pot of beer has recently gone up in pubs by as much as 10cents due to the rises in beer excise tax.
We were on 2UE radio in Sydney last weekend and through an on air phone in poll regarding how much people pay in bars for a humble schooner, prices revealed were astronomical! The price quoted reached as high as $12 for a beer!
How much are you paying at your local bar? What do you pay for a beer, wine or spirit? Not to mention a cocktail? Where do you go drinking?
