Aimee Semple McPherson

Many of today's Evangelical churches and ministries employ their own unique
flare when preaching the Gospel, with energetic sermons, uplifting music,
and enthusiastic showmanship. This fascinating piece, a part of the PBS
series "American Experience", looks at the life of Aimee Semple McPherson,
one of the pioneers of conservative Protestantism in America.

Read about the nature of Sister Aimee's faith, her religious work, as well
as the evolution of her Pentecostal ministry in the 1920's and it's impact
on the modern Evangelical movement. Additionally, visitors to the site can
take a virtual tour of her Angelus Temple, learn about the film "Sister
Aimee" which tells the dramatic life story of this charismatic evangelist,
and browse through a gallery of historic personal and "marketing" images
that show Mrs. McPherson's innate talent for public relations.

country scrambling to file their taxes before the annual deadline of April
15th. This useful site from the IRS provides citizens with a host of

paying income tax.

The website has answers to common questions about capital gains, small
business issues, deductions, social security, self-employed income, child
care and many other tax-related topics. Search for answers by category,
sub-category, or keyword, and submit any additional questions or comments
you may have directly to the taxman himself.

popcorn. This fun site features imaginative and bold twists on the
familiar recipe such as "Popcorn S'mores", "Strawberry Popcorn Bars", and

Spelling with Zombies

Sure zombies are scary re-animated supernatural monsters, as well as a
staple of modern horror films, but that doesn't mean they can't
spell! This quirky site lets users enter a simple word or phrase, and then
translates it into the "Zombie Alphabet".

The Kings of Africa

For centuries the continent of Africa was a roughly sewn patchwork of
descendant dynasties ruled over by tribal kings. While Imperialism by
various European nations divided Africa into a conglomeration of individual
countries run by modern governments, there are still many tribal monarchs
that hold both significant spiritual and traditional power in their
respective lands.

Daniel Laine is a photographer who spent the better part of three years
shuffling around diplomatic bureaucracies and cultural boundaries to
compile this amazing collection of images entitled "Kings of Africa". The
project and its official website display Mr. Laine's stunning portraits of
these descendant tribal leaders, as well as information on the history of
many of the dynasties, kingdoms and clans that once ruled throughout Africa.

dubious individuals who create comedy while attempting to commit

The "Regrets" Project

In the words of the immortal Henry David Thoreau, "Make the most of your
regrets…To regret deeply is to live afresh." While most of us would rather
not have regrets, for better or worse they tend to pile up the longer we
live. Created by Jane Mulfinger, Graham Budgett and Carl Magagnosc,
"Regrets" is an online project and an amazing achievement in interactive
"public artwork".

The site's grand database contains the confessed regrets of people all
around the world, from the profound to the banal to the just plain bizarre,
and serves as a powerful reminder that we are not alone in feeling personal
disappointment. Those who want to participate can anonymously enter their
regrets into the archive, which will return five similar sentiments from
others who have contributed their individual misgivings.
