Hurricane Relief

I am alarmed at how much suffering still goes on in the hurricane-affected states. I have donated free downloads through state departments of education since 2005. However, the entire school infrastructure is so dessimated that software is the least of their problems. In November, 2005, one teacher from Mississippi wrote: "Our middle school was completely gutted after Katrina, and we would love the math resources. At this time, we do not have one computer in the school..." They just got 2 computers for her school, and she did download my CD files last week. However, the same teacher writes this in March, 2007: "Our students are showing delayed signs of the trauma of the hurricane through difficulty in focusing and retention. Your CD will be such a great resource." If you have hurricane-affected students that need math help, contact me for a download.

Math Goodies Trivia

In our last issue, we asked: Where can you learn about rolling a pair of dice? The answer is in this worksheet (PDF). The trivia question for this issue is: When Are We Ever Gonna Have to Use This (Math)? Visit Math Goodies to find the answer to this question, the URL of which will be disclosed in our next issue!
