THE BUY: Yogagurl Arm Warmers

Ok, we get it. The 1980s as fashion inspiration is unavoidable. How many more times do we need to hear that we should be wearing leggings? Or ballet flats? Or headbands? There’s almost a manic energy to it all. Like Jane Fonda in an aerobics video.

Chill out fashion potentates. Take a yoga class. And yes, you can wear your darned eighties gear. Fact is, some of this fad actually serves a purpose. When it comes to exercise, clothing should be layered to allow muscles time to warm up.

Yogagurl, the apparel collection by Toronto-based instructor Alex Leikermoser, offers arm warmers that are 100 per cent cotton; very cute in black or teal ($30). There’s also an eco option in recycled cream cotton ($35). Scrunched from the wrist to the forearm, they’re a fresh alternative to leg warmers and an effortless transition accessory for spring — in and out of the yoga studio.

Available online at www.yogagurl.com or call 1-877-818-9642 for retail locations.
