Dear Musician,
It's been awhile between newsletters, but there's a good reason: NAMM. We came, we saw, and we videoed. Boy, did we video. Each day, there were highlights from the show, which got things off to a good start; but the real work began after the show.
Using Apple Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas, and a bunch of Really Big hard drives, the Harmony Central Video Group brewed several vats of coffee and started editing. The result: 188 product videos for your viewing enjoyment. And we're proud of the fact that these have some real production values, including (for the most part) decent audio, especially considering the noise level on the show floor. NAMM coverage didn't stop there, though. For the first time, Harmony Central introduced a forum specifically for talking about NAMM-related topics, and of course, the front page had a steady stream of press releases from the show. In fact, Harmony Central's coverage was so extensive that some people who attended NAMM felt they got a better handle on the show from checking Harmony Central than from actually being there. (As to the forum, it will be archived when the Frankfurt Musik Messe begins, and we'll start up another forum for that).
NAMM is a crazy show, but we had a great time... and we hope we were able to give you as much of a "you are there" vibe as possible.
