PET FOOD SCARE
Veterinarians around the country are being hit by a barrage of anxious pet owners tonight as a pet food manufacturer has ordered one of the largest pet food recalls that anyone can remember. More than 60 million cans and bags of cat and dog food are being recalled. Pet owners are clicking through Web sites, desperately trying to find any information about what might be happening to their pets. At this point, no one really knows how widespread the problem is. Correspondent David Kerley has been reporting the story for ABC News and he'll have the latest tonight.
GLOBAL WARMING
Former Vice President Al Gore was back on Capitol Hill today trying to get Congress to act on global warming. His star is shining these days with director Davis Guggenheim taking home an Oscar for Gore's global warming documentary "An Inconvenient Truth." But he wasn't the only one trying to get Washington to focus on the world's changing climate. The small Alaskan village of Shishmaref -- less than 50 miles from the Arctic Circle -- is in grave danger of melting into the sea. Temperatures there have risen dramatically in the past 50 years and Shishmaref's mayor was on the Hill asking for help today. Anchor Terry Moran recently made the long trek to Shishmaref and brings us a portrait of a changing world: the quiet, rugged beauty of Alaska where one community's future literally is hanging in the balance.
CHINESE FOOD WARNING
One of the nation's leading food watchdogs today issued a remarkable warning about Chinese food -- the American version. Much of America's top selling takeout food may not be so good for you. It's not the food, so much; it's the way it's prepared. ABC's Jessica Yellin has a Sign of the Times on what's good for you and what's not. Tune in. The secret's all in the fortune cookie.
We hope you'll join us.
