Anastasia and the legend of the lost Russian princess were the inspiration
behind the State of Grace Winter 2007 Collection. A dark palette of stormy blacks, inks
and rich chocolate colours reflect the tragedy surrounding the Romanov family.
Dresses are key throughout the collection and feature dramatic billowing bell
sleeves, wide curved necklines, corded rope accents and intricate beading.

Winter ‘07’s hip shade is a far-from-drab grey – the season's big colour
encompasses a broad range of hues, from a light-toned silver to a dark charcoal
smoke.
The best dressed woman this season won’t wear one grey tone from head to toe
however; she will incorporate different shades and patterns that strike out from
a grey background. The exclusive prints from
Andrea
Moore are ideal for this, with soft moody greys mixed in with hues of deep
navy. Calliope has various shades of grey running throughout their collection,
from hoodies to low slung waisted dresses, merino jackets and cardies. |
 |
|
Richard Moore places shots of pumice throughout his collection – his Eckland
V Neck is a must have, perfect for any ensemble, be it casual or smart.
Mundo mixes different textures of grey for a sophisticated collection and
Helen Cherry gets sheer with a smoky palette combine to create a modern
style that literally smoulders. Complete the look with a pair of smoke coloured
Dallas Boots from
Kathryn Wilson.
Short on budget? Get a key new season shape like the
Angela Lewis capelet above, in grey - and kill two fashion "birds" with one
stone. |

The Ayala Vintage Champagne was flowing at the
Sabine and
Scarpa combined Launch recently. A red ‘L’ shaped Catwalk cleverly connected
the two stores situated in 277 Broadway, Newmarket, roped off with palm trees, a
bar and a DJ booth. Kelly Swanson-Roe hosted a 200 strong crowd of Media and VIP
customers who were treated to an inspiring lineup of 18 outfits showcasing the
best of winter fashion from head to toe. Highlights included a stunning lilac
coat by
Sabine teamed with purple suede boots, and a sexy melon merino wrap dress
looked hot with chic knee high gold Metallic Boots. While boots and dresses
dominated the show, ladylike wide strappy heels were also strong. Masculine,
subtle pinstripe suiting in a high waisted pant and little fitted waistcoat made
an obvious impact with the enthusiastic crowd. |

This Winter,
David Elman embraces high fashion like never before. Have an ‘80s flashback
in slouchy round-toed, almost flat boots – in suede naturally! You’ll be more
tempted than ever by purple, light grey and red in addition to more practical
black and coffee. Sweet little details like a little gathering around the top
and topstitch creating a fine ridge in the suede make the David Elman styles
stand out from the imitators.

Ok, we
are as susceptible to a posh brand and gorgeous packaging as anyone else – but
to us the trio of Prada fragrances smell sophisticated with just a touch
of edge, and luxurious. Amber is central to all variants: “hypnotic amber” for
Prada, which you could call knock ‘em dead dress-up; “luminous amber” for
Prada Tendre, a lighter version perfect for day, and oh! Prada Man!
At first whiff your man smells divinely – well – clean! Followed by exotic and
expensive – that’s the “amber fugère (fern-like)”.
Prada fragrances
exclusive to selected Farmers stores nationwide. Prada
from $130.00; Prada Tendre from $125.00
Prada Man from $90. |
