'Pace-egging' in which groups of bizarrely-dressed revellers travelled the towns and villages singing and dancing in return for eggs, food and gifts, took place all over the UK from the early middle ages until the turn of the century. In the last few years, regions like Cumbria and Lancashire are reviving the traditional Easter custom of 'pace-egging', particularly in the Lake District.
This pretty cottage is in the coastal village of Silverdale near Carnforth - and is perfectly placed for excursions inland to see the lakes.
