Week By Week Technique
Hi Criss,
We're starting the second week of our Album in a Month contest using Michelle Sheveland's new CD, Simply Moments!
Have you caught the album fever yet? It's not too late to join in the fun!
If you want to make an album using another CD in the Scrapper's Guide store, you're more than welcome to participate and glean all the great tips to make it successful! Even though you won't be eligible for the contest, you'll still win BIG by finishing your album!
You may want to review the Contest Rules.
Also, we've received some great questions, so I've prepared answers for them in the Questions about the Contest thread in the Forum. If you have a question, check there first to see if I've already answered it.
Did you pick your topic?
I'm excited by the "topic" photos I've seen in the Gallery! There's quite a range of topics, so if you're having trouble figuring out what to do, check there for inspiration.
Here are two sample photos and their topics:

This week we'd like you to create your title page and one two-page spread. Post them in the Simply Moments "Album in a Month" Gallery. Remember to make the majority of your page using papers and elements from the Simply Moments CD.
Post your album title page first; then post the two pages for your double spread. Start by posting the right facing page, and then post the left facing page. That way they'll be in the correct viewing order.
Please post the links to your pages in the Discussion Thread in the Forum. Start each post with: Simply Moments "Name of Main Kit" Theme Title" to help us remember your project.
If you use a different Scrapper's Guide product for your Album, start each post with: "Name of Main CD or if Premier, name of KIT and month of Premier. Then put in your Theme Title to help us remember your project.
Here are a couple of articles I've written to help you on your journey:
Title Page
When you're creating a cohesive album, all the pages should work together to tell a story. The title page is the introduction and sets the tone for your book.
I would encourage you to spend some time in a bookstore or library looking through some gift books to get an idea of what you can do, but don't feel like you have to follow exactly what anyone else does. It's YOUR title page!
Here are some tips for a good title page. Read rest of article.
Two Page Spreads
Most of you have probably worked with two page spreads, but I'll give a few tips that may be helpful.
First of all, decide whether to work with one page at a time or whether you want to make one big document that has both spreads in it. Read rest of article.
Contest Deadline Extended
We had such a great response to the contest that we cleaned out all the copies of the Simply Moments CD! For those of you who ordered over the weekend, we'll be shipping within one to two days.
Because of the delay, we're extending the contest deadline to include the first week in April. Have fun working on your albums, and enjoy the journey!
Next week: More on coordinating and designing two page spreads!
Love and scrapbooking success,

Linda Sattgast
